I am Mayte — knitter, designer, and mom, raised between languages and cultures, now at home in Berlin.

The Spanish Knitter was born from a simple observation: there weren't enough truly beautiful knitting patterns for babies and children. Simple, timeless, with attention to detail — yet easy to knit.

My Design Philosophy

I design patterns that I would love to knit myself. Inspired by Scandinavian aesthetics, with clean lines and calm colors. Each piece should fit so well that you'll want to give it as a gift again and again — and be so beautiful that you'll want to keep it yourself.

Handmade with Mathematics

Behind every pattern is much more than a beautiful photo. Every stitch count is calculated, every increase tested, every size checked. I want your knitting project to succeed — from the first stitch to the last.

Why handmade?

Because a hand-knitted baby item is more than a piece of clothing. It's time. Love. A decision against disposability.
